Sea Week - Kaupapa Moana

This week our Literacy & Numeracy focus will be based around learning about the ocean, marine animals and ways to keep our sea clean.

Here the children are brainstorming different ways they could clean up the plastic pollution that has built up in the great pacific garbage patch.

  1. Hi there, my name is Taufa and I am a student in Kaiwhare class at Waikowhai School. I really like your classes literacy about sea week. It made me think of people looking for rubbish in the ocean. Have you thought about going for a trip to the beach to pick up rubbish? If you would like to see my learning, my class blog is https://wpsteanaako.blogspot.com/.

  3. Hi there, my name is Maddy and I am a year 4 in Mokoroa at Waikowhai School. I really like how you are working together and thinking about things before you write them down. It made me think of when I looked at our discovery table and all the rubbish my teacher collected on the beach. Have you thought about all the different kind of plastic and how we could change all the plastic to recyclable things? If you would like to see my learning, my blog is https://wpsmadeleined.blogspot.com/
