Miss Ferguson's home learning: Writing

Hi Kereru,

I hope you are all well in your bubbles and having fun! I have really enjoyed all of your blog posts so far! Lots of Science, Maths, Writing, and creating happening at home!

In my bubble I have been doing lot of online reading, exercise, and some art. Today I have decided to write a diary entry from the perspective of MiMi. As I have been spending lots of time with her and I thought it would be more interesting for you to read.

MiMi’s cat Diary:
Day 23 of my humans hanging around the house. Looking forward to when my parents stop working from home. They continue to tease me with bizarre little dangling objects and I just want to cat nap.

My parents like to go for runs in the morning. I am slightly confused as to why they take me on short walks to the park close by and not on journeys they run to. Note to self, ‘sick of being put back inside house’ don’t they know I can run faster than them?’

I live for breakfast and dinner! I hope one day I will be able to open the biscuit jar by myself and be allowed to roam outside after dark. Tomorrow I may eat another houseplant.

I like going next door to beg for food (as my parents have put me on a diet, despite my meowing protests). The neighbours call me ‘fluffy bum’ silly humans… can’t they read my name tag?

Today my attempt to get my parents attention by running around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded; must try this at the top of the stairs next time.

Secrete stash of socks! Yes you heard me, I can’t help myself… I love to climb into my humans washing basket and steal their smelly socks! I carry them around the house and I am so proud of myself when I drop them at their feet. Is it strange that humans change their socks everyday? I wear 4 white socks, which I never take off.

I have also included a small video I put together of MiMi taking me for a walk to the park. :) If you have a pet you might like to writing a diary entry from their perspective or make a video of them on an adventure.  Click on the link below to watch. Thanks for reading and I look forward to your replies.

  1. Ha ha Miss Ferguson - Mrs W here. I just love this story. I couldn't get the video to work though. My cat Ben dragged his food container out of the pantry the other day and left it in the middle of the floor. The lid did not come off - I think he was disappointed by that. Do you think he was hungry? Maybe I forgot to feed him that morning?

  2. Hi Mrs Walker, what a clever cat! I think Ben was trying to tell you something. If you click on the blue text under the video 'taking my human for a walk' it should work? Thanks for letting me know.

    1. Yes that worked - It was a Mrs Walkinshaw comment. Guess I can't use Mrs W as it is obviously confusing. Love the video.
