Hi Kereru today I made some flax flowers my mum showed me how to do it. It is interesting but also I would say about medium difficulty it took me a long time to understand what to do but my mum helped me a lot. Mum said you can also make them with coloured paper which could be cool.

Hey Buddy
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool activity to do. I wonder if I could do it? I find things like that hard for me to do. Maybe you and your mum could teach me one day.
Mr G
hi mr g you can do it it was hard for me to make ill try to make a video
DeleteHey Dayzharn, I love your harakeke flowers! How long did they take to make? Last year I attended a sustainable Christmas decoration workshop and we learnt how to make Christmas wreaths from tī kōuka leaves. Maybe we could have a weaving session when we are all back at school.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mrs Ferguson it took about ten minutes i would like to do weaving at school maybe my mum can come in to teach the class to make flax flowers and you could help to
DeleteCool I want to learn how to do that. Could you and your mum post a video on the blog teaching us?
ReplyDeleteMs Lunan

DeleteHi Dayzharn, I love your harakeke flowers, I really enjoy weaving too. We have made some during lockdown as well. I am going to have a look at making some stars this week, I wonder what else you could make!
ReplyDeletecool that you made harekeke flowers
DeleteKia ora Dayzharn, I love how your mum taught you how to make putiputi or flowers out of harakeke. I would have to agree that they can be difficult to make and I needed a lot of guidance and support when I tried making them. I also taught a big group of children to make these and it was tough. Ka pai tō putiputi - you've made awesome flowers.
ReplyDeleteHi Dayzharn, awesome flowers! I love making these, I learnt how to make them when I was at school. They're fun aren't they - and they look awesome when the flax is dried out too. Great job!
