Sustainability

This term our inquiry focus is sustainability.

Kereru have been collecting glad wrap from Wigram School lunch boxes to create a glad wrap ball.
We wanted to show just how much glad wrap was being used in our lunch boxes.

Below is a photo of our glad wrap ball. Can you guess how many days worth of glad wrap is on our ball?

We predict it will grow bigger than a netball. What are your predictions?

Comments

  1. Ki ora kereru. I predicting that it took you 1 month to make the glad wrap ball because not everybody brings to school glad wrap so it is 1 month. I predict it will grow bigger than a netball ball in half a year because not everybody bring glad, and it takes time to cover the ball to make it bigger.

I predict that your glad wrap ball is going to grow bigger than a basketball because I think it is big already and it will grow bigger in just a few more days. How much glad wrap do you use in a day? I don't use any. I use a beeswax wrap instead. Blog ya later!

  11. Talofa lava Kereru! My name is Kiara and I am in Te Ana Ako at Waikowhai Primary School. I think that it took you at least 20 to 30 days to make the ball that big. My prediction is it will get bigger than a basketball which is pretty big. Maybe you could think about making a video on how you did it but other than that I would say that is pretty good. See you later.

  15. Hi there, my name is Maddy and I am a Year 4 in Te Ana Ako at Waikowhai School. I really like that your collecting the Glad Wrap because if it blows away it could pollute places. It made me think about how I don’t use Glad Wrap because I know it’s bad for the world, It’s plastic, that’s why. Have you thought about keeping on collecting even if it gets bigger than a netball? My predictions are that it took a week and a half to collect that Glad Wrap, and that it will get bigger than a netball If you would like to see my learning, my blog is http://wpsmadeleined.blogspot.co.nz.
