Most days after school, we take our dog to the basins along Awatea Rd to run around. There is always rubbish there, but it's worse after a windy day or the weekend when more people have been walking through. We are asking the council to put in rubbish bins to encourage people to be tidy kiwis, but in the meantime I am picking up rubbish and bringing it home to our bins. This is how much rubbish I picked up in just 10 minutes this afternoon.

ReplyDeleteHi Ethan, it would be great if you could do it too, if we all picked up the rubbish we saw then things would be so much better! I think it was about 30 pieces of rubbish - some of them were really small.

ReplyDeleteDid you know it's G.J. Gardner Homes Clean Up Week? Small businesses are organising clean up areas around NZ. Last year over 52,000 volunteers picked up 507,400kgs of litter nationwide. How impressive is that?

I hope they start putting in rubbish bins otherwise there will be tones of rubbish in your street!
