Today I did an experiment to learn about water.
Firstly, I got one empty cup, one cup with red water and one cup with yellow water.
Then, I folded two paper towels, made one side of the paper towel in the empty cup, another side in the cup with water.
After that, I was waiting to have a see what will happen.
The amazing thing is the water can automatically travel up the paper towel and go down to the empty cup and these two colours were mixed together to be a new orange colour.
Mum told me that's like how plants' roots can take the water from the underground and travel the water up to the leaves at the top.
I like this experiment!
Hi Katherine, Mrs Horner here. What a cool science experiment you did at home. How long did the experiment take?
ReplyDeleteHi Mrs Horner,It took around 7 hours, but I only spent 10 minutes to do it and then waited for the result.
DeleteHi Katherine, it was great to see your blog post and hear about your science experiment. Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteHi Mrs Clements, thanks for leaving a message. I am glad to share what I did with Kereru.
DeleteHi Katherine
ReplyDeleteThis is a very clever experiment that you have done. I love the new colour that you made. You could try mixing other colours to see what other colours you could make.
That's a good idea, I will try it :)
DeleteHi Katherine
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool experiment you have done. I wonder what would happen if you used yellow and blue? I wonder what the middle colour would be.
Looks like you are having lots of fun.
Mr G
Hi Mr Gibson,I guess it should be Green. I learned about it from a book, but I haven't tried it by myself. I will do it later.
DeleteI would be interested to know. Thanks for trying this Katherine. I hope you are keeping well.

Hey Katherine, what a cool Science experiment. I like how you were able to relate the experiment back to plants drinking water. How long did it take for the colours to mix together?
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, Miss Ferguson
Hi Miss Ferguson, thanks for liking my experiment. It took a long time, but I enjoyed it:)
DeleteHi Katherine, thanks for sharing your science experiment with us! It looks like lots of fun. I like how you've explained what you're doing at each stage of the experiment. Great job!
ReplyDeleteMrs Walker
Hi Mrs Walker, thanks for liking my experiment. It is really fun, I am going to do more experiments like this.
DeleteCool! I can't wait to see what other experiments you try Katherine. Have a great day! Mrs Walker.
DeleteHi Katherine, it is Michelle here. That looks like a fun experiment, I loved it when it turned to orange. I also wonder what other colours you could use. Are you thinking of doing any more experiments? I would love to see them.
ReplyDeleteExcellent work.
Michelle
Hi Michelle, I feel it was amazing when I saw the new color and the water automatically traveled to the empty cup. It is really fun. I am going to do more experiments like that:)
DeleteHi Katherine. That is such a cool experiment thank you for sharing it with us all. I wonder what would happen if you used blue and red what do you think? You also did a really great job of explaining what was happening well done.
ReplyDeleteNicole
Hi Nicole, I remember that I learned from a book. It said when the blue and red mixed together,we could get purple. But I need to have a try to get the result.
